Sweetgum Dornlancy Release : Effects of Chilling , Photo - period , and Genotype
نویسنده
چکیده
In Liquidambar sfyraciflua L., 1200 to 1600 hours of chilling (3 D C) resulted in rapid resumption of growth under greenhouse forcing conditions. Long photoperiods were effective substitutes for chilling. Plants from southern Alabama (Lat. 31°) had a lower chilling requirement than those from western Tennessee (Lat. 36°). Growth rate of plants under long photoperiod varied directly with degree of pre-

A Study on the Effects of Chilling Period on Sperm Quality of Sannan and Jamunapari Goats
The objective of the present study was to examine the effects of chilling period on semen quality of Sannan and Jamunapari. Semen of goat breeds were collected with artificial vagina and chilled at 5-9˚C. Volume, colour and pH were determined on fresh semen. After dilution, microscopic examination was performed for the progressive motility and sperm viability. Diluted semen of both breed was co...

Although self incompatibility in walnut has not been reported, but the dicogamy limits self pollination of walnut cultivars. As the density of female flowers produced by the tree is low, if a high fruit set occurs, yield especially in terminal bearing cultivars will not be high. So breeding of a pollinizer cultivar with proper pollen shading period is highly necessary for increasing fruit produ...
متن کاملChilling-Dependent Release of Seed and Bud Dormancy in Peach Associates to Common Changes in Gene Expression
Reproductive meristems and embryos display dormancy mechanisms in specialized structures named respectively buds and seeds that arrest the growth of perennial plants until environmental conditions are optimal for survival. Dormancy shows common physiological features in buds and seeds. A genotype-specific period of chilling is usually required to release dormancy by molecular mechanisms that ar...
متن کاملEffects of Hydrogen Sulfide on Cold-Induced Oxidative Damage in Cucumis sativus L.
One of the major abiotic stresses limiting the productivity and the geographical distribution of many important crops is low temperature. Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is an important signaling molecule involved in several stress-resistance processes such as drought, salinity and heavy metal stresses in plants. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of exogenous H2S...
متن کاملEffects of Spray Drying and Spray Chilling on Ibuprofen Dissolution
The formulation of hydrophobic drugs for oral drug delivery is challenging due to poor solubility, poor dissolution and poor wetting of these drugs. Consequently, the aim of this study was to improve the dissolution of a model poorly water soluble drug, ibuprofen. Microparticles containing ibuprofen were produced by spray drying and spray chilling technology in the absence/presence of a ...
